The Braking laws in NZ are complicated!
You do not need Brakes if your Boat + Trailer + Fuel + Gear is under 2000kg’s
The Law says you should be able to stop in 7 meters at 30km/h if you know how to test this? let us know!
However most vehicles have a rated towing capacity of 750kg unbraked so if you have an accident and the insurance company think that not having brakes caused the accident they may not pay out. Is it worth the risk?
So by fitting our Cable Brake System you will be covered for insurance and the brakes help you stop in an emergency, avoiding the risks of an argument with your insurance company and also injury to yourself and family.
Our cable brake system is quite simple and requires very little maintenance or for more advance braking we have Hydraulic Brakes which can be fitted with Stainless Steel Calipers.
